Let’s Welcome the New Year

with

Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

January 5, 2025

What better way to warm up on a cold winter day?

Soup can come from a can, or homemade or a way to use up the leftover Christmas turkey.

The sandwiches will be an assortment of traditional grilled cheese with processed cheese, or cheddar, and some gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches.

We will need the following:

Soup 8 - 10 pots (one gallon/4 litre)

Bread: 5 loaves of Dempster's white

6 loaves of Dempster’s whole wheat

3 loaves of sliced Sourdough rye from Sobeys bakery

2 loaves of Dempster's Raisin

4 loaves of Dempster's multigrain

Cheese: 1 package of 28 thick sliced processed cheese Kraft

6 packages of 12 slices of sliced cheddar

2 packages of 11 slices Havarti

1 package of 12 slices of Mozzarella

1 package of 11 slices Swiss

1 package of 11 slices Pepper Jack

454 gm wheel of Brie

Gourmet extra:

2- 3 apples

24 slices of deli ham

1 -  348 ml whole cranberry sauce

1 - 390 ml blueberry jam

2-3 large onions

Dessert: 10 dozen leftover Christmas baking

I realize the list is very prescriptive. I made my calculations based on the named product.  So you may substitute as long as the number of slices is the same.

Please let me know what you can bring.  It helps with planning and preparing.
